I am in my 2nd month of “stay at home” in NY state. Most of it has been the same for me since I work from home. But it is impossible to forget about all those who have lost their lives in this critical time. I remember the tv commercial that urges people to stay at home in order to save others in case you are in fact infected with the virus and don’t know it.
I have been staying at home for most of the time. Just trips to the grocery, PO, and rare trips to the dump or pharmacy.
Today I noticed that there were many cars parked by the Ashokan resorvoir. I hope they are social distancing.
Last Saturday, was my first trip back to the grocery store after an older woman was yelling at me two weeks prior. I was a little stunned. I made a small error in regards to the new rules. Luckily, she was not there last Saturday.
During this time, I have been working on a children’s book. Story and illustrations. The characters were born from drawings I worked on near the end of January when the winter blues were setting in. Then, a story started to emerge. I am now working on the illustrations. Changing some. I hope to publish it through the B&N press this year.
The Etsy world of sales has been really slow this year. Just now, I am starting to get a sale here and there. I have a rush order to work on this week.
For the gardens this year, I ordered 25 strawberry plants and may be ordering blueberry bushes, as well. Am ramping up the other veggies, too. Hopefully I can construct a raised garden bed with found rocks that were unearthed from a property project last fall. Hard work!
The daffodils are all in bloom. The forsythia are on their way out and the lilacs are budding.
Happy Spring!
